God’s Dominion and Responsibility in taking Care of His Creation
Introduction
According to various theological and scriptural perspectives, God takes action by creating and sustaining life, intervening in human history, answering prayers, and extending love, grace, and judgment. These actions include providing guidance through scripture, empowering, encouraging, and working through humanity to accomplish tasks like justice and salvation: Source-: ‘God in All Things’
Since God is the Almighty, He was the first to take responsibility. He showed us how to do things by creating this world. Human beings were created by God and so it is believed that, if they are living, then God permitted it. God rules in the affairs of men therefore so that whatever we do and the results we get, God’s hand is in it. If business is booming, God’s hand is in it. If your marriage is successful, God’s hand is in it. If you’re bearing children, it is the blessings of the Almighty.
As soon as things don’t go well, for us Christians, we get more serious going to church because we have a mindset that there is someone seated somewhere, interested in us and can solve the basis of our problems besides the effort we put in. We get serious with prayer because it is our Christian duty and while doing it, it is believed that God sees it and intervenes in enabling spiritual solutions to our problems thereby manifesting in the physical.
It is God’s wish that you live in good health. It is God’s wish that you have a successful family life. It is God’s wish that your children grow in the fear of the Lord, have a successful business and financial life. Our breath is controlled by God so that, the day you lose your breath, it is assumed that, the creator of the universe has need of you. God’s breath is sustaining plants, waters and river bodies, the very things man needs to continue having life. This is how God is sustaining us.
It been normal these days for persons to say ‘God is taking care of us’ because they know that ability to get sales, have energy to go out and come back with money suggest that, the Almighty has been on the side of that individual. Our history depicts where we are coming from and God is interested because if the evil in the family you grew from is dealt with, you’re bound to be successful. If you have a family with the history of idolaters, God has to find a way through spiritual men to deal with idol worship which retards progress.
As Christians, we mustn’t also forget that, even though we came from our mothers’ wombs, the formation of the baby is mysterious which suggests that, it is supernaturally motivated and the Supreme Being behind it that is (God) must be duly recognized. Even though we were born, we came from somewhere. When you woke up and didn’t know what to eat with your children as a single mother, God miraculously provided. Do you remember? When you set out without money in your pocket, you didn’t know how you returned home. When your child was desperately sick and you didn’t know his chances of survival, someway, he survived. This is how God answers expectations and needs on our hearts our lips couldn’t speak.
When a Christian is able to provide care beyond his home, the recipient outside of his home can accept or believe in his God. Food and water brings smiles to our faces but food and water can be scarce to some individuals. However if we’re able to solve such important needs, we win the hearts of such persons and immediately, they can accept the gospel. If you serve a bad God, you wouldn’t have supplied them with food and water. The gospel travels faster when we are able to add helps ministry to it.
It is God’s wish that the Gospel travels far. It is the only way we could demonstrate the burden of God’s love. It is God’s grace that helps the individual to accept Him. The hardest criminal has God’s embalming grace to be saved. There is grace for the Moslem to be save and there is grace for the traditionalist to be saved. The same way God’s grace is extended, his judgment comes upon anyone that disobeys him. If you reject the gospel, you have to face the consequences of accepting another faith. If you kill, it comes with the curse of one’s blood upon your head. If you steal it has its own consequences and so on. These results of the things we do is God’s judgment of those actions we undertook.
If you want God’s mind concerning a situation, the solution is in His word. The scripture you choose to apply to your situation is God’s word actioned by your decision. God’s word empowers you to take action on the word you have heard and believed. God also empowers people through their offices. If you’re appointed into an office, it is assumed that, God placed you there. Every decision you take therefore must be in the interest of God. You must lead to please God. You can’t be a leader to be abusive, you can’t be a leader to mismanage. These are not signs that you are representing the image of God who created you.
The word of God brings hope and encouragement. In the same way we must present the gospel for recipient to feel loved and accepted. Leaders must provide hope to their followers just as Christ provided hope to us through His death and His life on earth. Anyone who sits in place of God on earth must be fair in his dealings with humanity with the heart to save people than condemn.
