Don’t Surrender Your Grounds to the Devil. Be Mindful of Your Activities
Introduction
The “enemy’s” confidence grows in areas of unattended mental, emotional, or spiritual weakness. Specifically, it grows where there is a lack of self-control, fear, or a “disordered” or “divided” internal state.-Moneycontrol.com
According to an African proverb highlighted in the search, the enemy’s confidence grows when you lack internal control or self-belief. The enemy gains confidence when you are consumed by comparison, and insecurity, which are described as the main enemies of confidence. The enemy’s confidence grows in “strongholds”—a Joyce Meyer Ministries article explains these are areas of thinking dominated by lies, deception, and negative, unverified thoughts. Comfort zone is where personal potential goes to die because it breeds resistance to change and complacency to grow.– source: Angela Parlin

We need mental fortitude in all situations. You need to be mentally strong to refuse the enemy. So that a voice is telling you, you are not well but you keep pushing that you’re well. This is the spirit. If you lose your mental power in your Christian walk, you live a defeated Christian life. The mind is where your knowledge of the word of God operates. You push the word of God into your situation from the knowledge in your mind. Never display mental weakness.
When you are emotionally distraught, anything can happen. The enemy knows it so he comes when you’re mourning a departed soul. Emotional ties with departed souls can be so strong that, mourners do not want to give up the grief. People can cry for the loss of a loved one until they become sick. Others will want to join the departed soul in the grave. This is what the devil likes. The devil wants you to display emotional weakness so he can get you. If you refuse to be consoled by the Word of God, that is where the devil comes in. The devil’s joy is to weary your soul until something happens to you.
Do you know what prayer does? It keeps us hopeful and confident of our expectations. It gives you peace in trouble and gives you rest. After prayer, you must have piece in your heart. One of the ways to demonstrate your spiritual strength is to be fervent in prayer. There are people who feel aggressive prayer is not necessary but the ones who pray in that manner, can explain the liberty that draws within their spirit. They feel their burdens are lifted by conviction that, their prayers worked.
Others naturally have strong spirits that takes them through problems. ‘The spirit of a man will sustain him through sickness but a crushed spirit who can bear (Proverbs 18:14). Your spirit can be hopeful and confident without praying. When the enemy realizes you cannot pray and your spirit is cast down within you, that is when he descends. ‘The Philistines will come upon me signifying fear and impatience’ (1 Samuel 13:12). The enemy’s confidence grows when he realizes you’re defenseless mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
If you’re one who is quick-tempered, the enemy’s confidence grows on you because anger produces sin. The spirit of the Lord cannot reside where sin dwells. Anger produces an impure heart which is prone to evil. The spirit of the Lord departs from such bodies. If you’re one that lacks control over sexual sin, the enemy’s confidence grows while your confidence in God diminishes. Your action condemns you unless you recognize it, repent and ask God for forgiveness. You have to make daily effort to desist from that activity.
If you’re the one that fears at the least thing, you give room to the devil. Fear prevents you from demonstrating a bold approach to what is tormenting you. Once you demonstrate vulnerability to fear, it sends you down faster than you may have thought. Be strong in the face of the trauma. Really the situation could be harassing you but don’t entertain the harassment because that is not the solution. This is how the enemy deceives us. The devil makes you to concentrate on the problem due to fear than finding solutions. Indeed the storm is heavy but don’t look at it. Look at the salvation of the Almighty. Moses urged the Israelites to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord at the Red Sea (Exodus 14:13). Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13, Joel 2:32). It is at the eleventh hour that you value the salvation of the Lord.
Situations can make us restless. For instance, some persons can have rude feeling that something evil is going to happen. Sometimes they cannot explain in clear terms but they can feel very heavy. Start praying once you feel disordered within you. Pray until the heaviness disappear and you see a relieved atmosphere. People can become confused and virtually come to a halt with their activities once they get into a place of unrest. In such states, people can be indecisive. The devil is happy when you are indecisive because he knows you will take the wrong decision that can run you into trouble. He knows indecision can frustrate you. Don’t make the devil happy.
When a pilot is assured of a good weather, and is not triggered of any danger in mid-air, he steers the aero plane with confidence. Have internal controls. Steer your life like the pilot who is certain and confident of safe arrival based on all the positive indicators. You must create the right weather in your situation so get in control. The enemy fears people who display self-belief in the face of defeat. Demonstrate courage even though the fight in your life is tough. Sometimes you feel like giving up but defy the weakness. Demonstrate inner strength and hold on.
Self-comparison lowers your morale to think adequate about your life. The enemy realizes that you’re diminished and once you feel insecure, he has access to torment you until you do what your insecurity wants you to do. When you desist from committing suicide, you have won the battle over insecurity. When you feel bound, the enemy knows he can destroy you. Sometimes you are not bound but the enemy can emboldened the pictures. You could be bound also but feeling and mentioning it empowers the devil. Take care.
When you feel everything is okay and you’re not challenged anymore to achieve, the devil is happy because you can be too relaxed and it can destroy everything you’ve worked for. It is advised to keep doing the things that made you successful so you can keep your awareness on the devil. Overjoyed lifestyles can make us misbehave to the point of losing our rear. We do all sought of things that opens us up to attacks. Too much talking’ in your excitement makes you say things you shouldn’t say. It gives grounds to the devil. Put yourself under discipline in your excitement being at the back of your mind that you could err.
