Reject the Pressure. Don’t Allow the Devil to Push You Over

Introduction

Satan is called the “accuser of the brethren” (Revelation 12:10) because he relentlessly brings charges, highlights sins, and stirs up guilt to condemn believers before God and in their own minds. He accuses to create doubt, destroy peace, separate humanity from God, and diminish God’s mercy. Source: GotQuestions.org

Scenarios

When a thief is being tried at the courts, it is the alleged atrocities he has committed that is brought against him. It is said, ‘he is being tried on this or that’ then the cases are mentioned. He is charged by the suspected findings that are brought against him. He has to stand trial and be convicted or acquitted.

In the same way, the devil who is the accuser of the brethren, brings charges against us. The devil is happy bringing charges against us that is the reason he wants you to commit offense or sin so he can have strong basis for his argument. The devil will go and tell God, ‘you did this,’ ‘you did that’ for this reason, you should be prosecuted by God.

If you are not on top of your Christianity, the devil who is a trickster can raise any accusation against you. The feeling of guilt and insecurity is one of the major weapons the enemy uses to accuse us. Sometimes you cannot really put a finger on what exactly you’re guilty off. But you sit and the thing is like a provocation. There is a burden that you’ve done something or not feeling right but you cannot tell. It’s a lie. Shake it off. It’s a mood the enemy is putting you in to strike. If you allow it for so long, it puts unnecessary pressure on you.

Another time, you really feel you have a right standing before God because you cannot pick any particular sin based on which it can hamper your progress. Yet, the accuser of the brethren, Satan can let you feel that, there is something left, there is something you have missed. He makes you feel you’re incomplete. This is the feeling of insecurity. It is a spirit you have to deal with.

Reassure yourself by the word of God, renew your mind, take it off and get yourself engaged with something profitable. Continue with your bible study program, if you have one, take a book, a documentary or a video that you love most and watch. What you engage yourself with is what occupies your mind. So occupy your mind with things that can progress your life. If the devil seas that, you are one who easily allow yourself to be influenced by the feeling of uncertainty and so on, he will keep troubling you on that score.

Do you see the persons who are adjudged to be troubled by evil spirits? The devil and his cohorts always have something to tell such persons. People complain of hearing voices and they can be preposterous in nature but very serious and real to the individuals. Once the devil realizes you are defenseless, he keeps bombarding you here and there until something stops it. That is why the Son of Man was made manifest to stop the works of the devil (1 John 3:8). Jesus mixed sand and saliva to stop the power that controlled blindness (John 9:6).

The power of epilepsy that kept throwing that boy up and down had to be stopped (Matthew 17:14-20; Mark 9:14-29; Luke 9:37-43). And madness which usually goes with strange voices had to be stopped on the man in the tombs who cut himself with stones (Mark 5:5). Voices of accusation whispers to him to cut himself. What else if it is not?

The devil usually uses the strategy of reminding people about lifestyles they have stopped. Traumatizing events such as when you smoked everything that almost left you with chronic cancer and death but God who loves you, found a way to deliver you and gave you a brand new life. Think about that new life and forget the old one. It is your conscious responsibility to keep reminding yourself about your new position. You drank your head off and suffered adversely from alcohol effects. You consciously robbed and terrorized people. Remember all these things? The enemy will deliberately bring these horrifying pictures to you because he knows you don’t truly believe that you have been delivered. He broadens or magnifies the sin you’ve already been forgiven to terrorize you.

When you took the money, no one saw you but you’re feeling very guilty. Pray over it, renew you mind and move on. It if it’s possible, return it where you took it. The devil’s plan is to condemn you that you’re finished. He says things to make you afraid. There was a time a prominent person promised to give his friend some money by 11.00am. Because the recipient does not experience the overflow blessing, he doubted that his friend will stick to his word. As soon as it got to eleven o’ clock, he started texting. Even though the giver didn’t say anything, he still went ahead and sent the money. If the recipient had waited until after 11 am and the money still came, he would have overcome doubt.

You doubt God because he is invisible but look at the moments you received. God was responsible. The enemy always wants to give you cause for concerns. You are always worried about something or troubled. It is the devil’s plan to keep you unnecessarily busy. The level of your hardship makes you think God does not exist. You see God very far away. The circumstances around you and how you survived suggests that God is merciful. People do not believe God because they feel those things happened by chance. Inability to see God with our naked eyes makes it hard for us to believe he provides except the physical beings that gives to us. But understand that, God causes men to give. If God does not command them, they will never give to you.
