One of the greatest asset the believer has in talking about God’s supernatural hedge of protection is the Blood of Jesus. God told the Israelites to put the blood of a lamb at their doorposts so that the Angel of death can Passover in the mission of striking the first born of the Egyptians. ‘For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when He seeth the blood upon the lintel and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you’.(Exodus 12:23 KJV)
The blood of Jesus is a very powerful weapon of the believer. Why? The blood is the basis of our Christianity. Due to the sin of the first man on earth which seeded the freedom of man to the devil, the highest medium which could deliver men from sin is blood and Jesus’s blood which was sinless was qualified to accomplish that mission. This is what makes the blood of Jesus so powerful. By mediating and atoning the top level sin, the blood of Jesus is authentic enough to intercept any attack of the devil.
The communion wine when taken in faith can heal the believer emotionally and physically. Application of a drop of the wine even on the forehead of the believer is a sign of protection from calamity. Persons have used the communion wine as a symbol to circle the compounds of their homes and gate points and through faith had prevented evil men from entering their homes. The mere mention of the ‘blood of Jesus’ have slain demons and saved persons from traumatic death situations.
In warfare prayer sometimes, we say ‘I release the blood of Jesus as a protective hedge’. That is it. The blood of Jesus is the most powerful hedge because indeed if you pray and believe and circle your compound with the blood, anyone who attempts to cross must fall under the power if your God is God. The symbol of the blood of Jesus immediately becomes the believer’s hedge which can kill people who trouble us. If the blood of a Lamb can qualify the Israelites to be exempted from death, then a symbol of the Blood of Jesus today should be able to do more for the believer. The blood of Jesus is a divine hedge that can deliver the believer from trouble at the same time exert judgment on enemies.
