TRUTH, RIGHTEOUSNESS AND PEACE CRUCIAL IN ENFORCING DIVINE HEDGE OF PROTECTION

‘Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God’ (Ephesians 6:8-10 NIV).

BELT OF TRUTH
Have you ever wondered why the bible referred to truth as a belt around your waist? Note that anytime your physical belt in your trouser belt holes are not in or fitted properly, your trouser becomes loose and can fall. The word of God contains the truths of life so anything we say or do must be according to the truth of God’s word.
For instance the bible says in the Exodus 20:16, ‘thou shall not bare false witness against thy neighbor, thou shall not lie (Leviticus 19:11), thou shall not steal (Exodus 20:15) , and thou shall not covet thy neighbor’s wife, house, belongings (Exodus 20:17) and so on.
Obeying these for example is standing for the truth of God’s word. But anytime we do or say anything contrary to these commands, we expose ourselves to sin which gives the devil the foothold to attack us. This automatically takes the divine hedge of protection away from us.

BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
Righteousness is generally described as the quality of being morally right, virtuous, and just often implying compliance with divine law or high ethical standards. Acting with integrity, fairness and kindness is the other side of it. Morals are rights, goods, and acceptable behaviors compared to what is wrong.
Righteousness the Biblical way refers to the state of being in right standing with God, characterized by moral integrity and conformity to His divine standards.
Now, the breastplate is positioned where the heart is and if the believer would be able to live a righteous life, he must keep the values of morality in his heart. ‘Keep your heart with all diligence for out of it comes the issues of life’ (Proverbs 4:23).
It is important that if the believer can uphold good values such as sincerity, kindness, fairness, honesty and the likes, he should be able to protect his heart against such evil and be purposed and determined to practice these good behaviors every time. Wearing on the breastplate of righteousness keeps God’s divine hedge of protection against the punishments that may come by disobeying the elements of righteousness.

GOSPEL OF PEACE
The gospel of peace is the fact that, God solved the anarchy and chaos on earth by sending His Son Jesus to die so through his death, anyone that accepts Him into his heart will have peace in spite of the concerns he has to deal with ‘…..wonderful counselor, mighty God, everlasting father, the prince of peace’ ( Isaiah 9:6b). It suggests that, the only way the World can find peace from wars and economic hardships is to accept the gospel of peace which brings rest to the soul. Currently the hedge of protection which is derived from the gospel of peace is in tatters and that is why there is turmoil at certain arears on the globe. The world by and large have neglected God’s peace which has removed the divine hedge of protection over nations that keeps warring or fighting each other ceaselessly, unabated.
