Come Again Devil, Make Your Case More Convincing and Clearer
Introduction
While the process of being accused is deeply emotional, the legal framework is designed to separate emotion from logic. Here is a breakdown of why an accusation is a legal matter, supported by legal principles. While the process of being accused is deeply emotional, the legal framework is designed:
Evidence over Emotion: In a court of law, accusations are not substantiated by feelings, sentiments, or sympathy, but rather by evidence and admissible facts. Presumption of Innocence: The core principle is that an accused person is innocent until proven guilty, regardless of the emotional appeal or gravity of the allegation. Legal Consequences for False Allegations: Because an accusation is a serious legal step, making false accusations (e.g., lying to police or perjury) can constitute a criminal offense, such as public mischief or obstruction of justice. Standard of Proof: In criminal cases, accusations must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt, which is a rigorous, logical standard, not an emotional one: source- vickhundallaw.ca
The Argument
Bible theologians have discovered that, ‘the accusation of the devil against the believer is not emotional but legal’. In truth, no one can condemn you with a case unless an evidence is firmly established against you at the law courts. In other cases, a robber can be condemned to death right at the spot of theft yet still in some cases, opportunity is given for them to defend themselves.
The devil feels something was not right about Job. It was the reason he raised an accusation against him before God. In the same way, the devil is not convinced about your righteousness. It is the reason he keeps reminding you of your wrongs to condemn you before God. Is there an evidence of the charges the devil is leveling against you? Are you thinking the enemy is becoming over emotional about your case?
The literature points that, even though the devil’s case against you is legal, it can be emotional. Why? People who suffer as victims of robbery and murder are hurt by the circumstance that led to the incident and can argue their case with such emotion. The devil is emotional in his accusation of you and I because of the enmity God placed between him and man, stemming himself to opposition and provocation of the believer to sin.
In spite of the above, the literature maintains that, the legal framework is designed to separate emotion from logic and it is the reason why a genuine case must be supported. Even though being a victim to crime can be painful, you have to make a valid case at the law courts and suppress your tears. You cannot tell the court that, the way I feel about the murder of my son, you have to judge the case in my favor. You cannot express words of pain without stating the real thing that was done to your son.
You also don’t expect the Judge to have compassion on you because you’ve been crying at court all day because of the alleged death of your son. You have to tell the court things that can let them believe that, your son was indeed murdered or killed. In the same way, the devil cannot go to God crying because of God supreme righteousness that is making an argument for the believer, making it impossible for the devil to lay a firm accusation. The devil has to tell God you get angry, sometimes you insult, get into bad company and use unguided language which taints your purity and for that reason, you must receive punishment.
The devil must understand that, the offense he reported to God about you must be proven by God. Until God finds something wrong with your actions that deserves punishment, the devil cannot push God to exact punishment on you. So the enemy is saying, ‘yesterday, you had an argument with your mum’ but God replies by telling the devil, ‘my son has long let that offense go away and he went to church with a renewed heart’. This offense cannot be charged against him.
The devil again said, ‘yesterday you went to the pub and drank’. But God says, ‘even though he went to the pub, he did not take alcohol’. ‘My son did not involve himself in any of the filthy things that was going on. He just needed company’. The devil actually frustrated you with your worries until you went to the pub and he is the same person accusing you. Case overruled therefore. The devil is wondering why his case was overruled. God looks at the heart of man. God also understands the circumstances that sent you to the place, He knows how much we can endure and deals with us just according to it.
Human life is so precious that, you cannot report an individual on things he hasn’t done or unproven. The devil aim is to condemn the Christian through fair or foul means. This is the reason why God dislodges his case. The devil’s argument against Job that, “does Job fear God for nothing?” is a crosscheck statement. God has weighed all the standards and has concluded that Job fears Him. Now, the devil was probing God in His stance concerning Job. But it is wrong to question God unfairly. It is the reason God sent the devil away from Him in the wilderness saying, “Get thee behind Me Satan. Thou shall not tempt the Lord your God”. God actually created the devil and He knows the rights He has given him. If he crosses it, God must put the devil in his rightful place. In the law courts, the judge can turn down you argument if it doesn’t carry substance.
If the devil therefore is raising cases about you just to satisfy his curiosity or to make himself happy, God has no time for non-serious persons in life.
