Like an Arm Robber, the Devil wants to Attack You First. Prevent It
Introduction
In biblical theology, Satan often initiates attacks to disrupt, deceive, or discourage believers, particularly during times of spiritual growth, new endeavors, or following significant spiritual experiences. These attacks are often pre-emptive strikes on the mind, identity, or through temptation to hinder spiritual progress: Source- AI Overview
The Issue
Even though it is known in other contexts that, ‘Satan does not attack first’ and that ‘he accuses first’, other theories have explained that, ‘Satan often initiates attacks to disrupt’. We know in John 10:10 that ‘the thief comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy’. The devil is the thief in this context. And are we saying the thief waits for his victims to arm themselves before he attacks their homes? Or the military enemies wait for their opponents to get set with their guns before they start shooting?
The trademark of the thief is to attack. The literature says, ‘Satan often initiates attacks to disrupt ’. Other words for ‘disrupt’ is to disturb, upset, interrupt, dislocate, disorder and unsettle. What does these mean? Satan disturbs you with unfulfilled ambitions and things you don’t have. You always have cause for concerns or worries. The devil knows what upsets you so he causes people to do or say things to make you upset. During church services, microphones make excessive noise with poor feedbacks just to disrupt the service. Sometimes speakers do make loud noises to cause huge disturbance.
The effect of the noise can tell you that something had terribly gone wrong. If speakers and microphones can go wrong then wires can also dislocate from source. In fact falling from that machine and getting your hip bone dislocated is a sign that the devil was involved even though the incident happened through your work. Wherever one topic leads to disorder among a group of people, the devil is there. Remember he is the author of confusion. If you suddenly feel restless or feel unrest about something, it is the devil that is attacking your spirit.
The devil often attacks our mind to deceive us. Do you see the people who suffer depression, they feel lowered in their thoughts which affects their maximum reasoning. They usually do not see things the normal way everybody does. And so they are almost every time, being deceived by their dysfunction. Yet they are convinced that, what they see or say are the right things. Why must someone’s reasoning be affected when we need our brains to function effectively right. God created our organs perfect especially organs like the brain that must function right. Any fundamental dysfunction that can cause mockery is not from God.
The way you heavily feel weighed down is a form of discouragement and a form of attack. Peoples’ spirit can easily be cast down (Psalm 42:5). It feels like a sudden drop and you don’t feel like doing anything. If you feel like the world has come to an end, it’s an attack from the devil. As a matter of fact, the world has not come to an end yet so your feeling cannot be from God. Anything that is not from God is from the devil. You know it. Believers usually feel this discouragement more because of the daunting task of working for God. If you’re serving God and cannot count your blessings, it can be discouraging indeed. Life can be so hard that you feel like committing suicide. The cause of self-inflicted deaths are as a result of pain people haven’t seen before in their entire life.
You can be troubled in your Christian life to the extent that, you wouldn’t want to pray nor read your bible anymore. The devil has emboldened your problems to an extent, it becomes too big to be tackled or for you to take an initiative. People start projects and give up on them. The enthusiasm with which they started suddenly goes down unexplained. You tell yourself ‘as for this year, I will do this and that’. As soon as the year starts, the desire to pursue it goes down. It is an attack. If you have the urge to do something and then you lose interest to do it the next second, it is a malfunction of your system. Abnormal function is not of God.
As we speak, you are not able to continue your worship of God at home. You only sing worship songs with excitement at church. Even this, it is the instrumentation that deceives you that you are worshipping. Worship is when your heart is heavy at church or at home, yet, you are singing as if there is nothing wrong.
The good news is that, you’re well able to stop the attack of the devil on your mind. How do you do it? You know the blueprint of the devil. Don’t you? You know the way the devil attacks you, right? The negative feeling you have on your mind, you know that it is from the devil. Don’t you? If your mind feels like blowing out due to pressure, you know it’s not of God. God wouldn’t blow-out your mind. You should be able to respond to the devil on who you are in Christ.
If you know that, that conversation is capable of blotting your purity and setting you back in your quest to attain top level spirituality, please desist from it. The problem with us Christians is that, we know our shortcomings but the challenge is to master strength to reject or prevent the occasion is our greatest hurdle. The assignment is to develop strong-headedness to be able to identify, reject and fight the devil over things that troubles our mind.
